Afternoon trading March 30

The rebound is gathering pace. ASX 200 up 1% at the halfway mark and looking good for a fourth straight rise. Importantly, the index is now a couple of hundred points clear of its March 20 four-month low.

The small and speculative ends of the market are marginally outperforming the main index in a sign that risk appetite is improving. XSO +1.25%. XEC +1.21%.

Lithium, uranium and tech logging notable gains. Gold miners and defensive stocks mostly weaker. US futures flat ahead of tonight's GDP report.

Personal trading: Solid morning. Shallow bounce trades in PUR and TYM.
