Critical continues to extend the Pegmatite 6 zone at its Mavis Lakes lithium project in Ontario after step-out drilling intersected more thick visual spodumene.

With Hole 14 intersecting 17.5m of spodumene – a key lithium-bearing mineral – from a down-hole depth of 143.25m while Hole 15 returning 9.7m of spodumene from 129.1m, the company has now intersected spodumene-bearing pegmatite mineralisation.

This ongoing success has ledto extend the current 5,000m program to about 10,000m withidentified – 11 of them ranked as “high priority”.

“It is extremely pleasing to see further significant intercepts along strike,” managing director Alex Biggs said. “These results follow on from our recent 23.1m interception in hole 13 and continues to re-enforce the potential prospectively at Mavis Lake.

“We are increasingly excited with what the rest of the drill program will uncover, and we look forward to updating our shareholders as this drill program continues.”

While assays are still pending for the current drill program, the visual observations of spodumene is a positive indicator for the company’s goal of defining a maiden JORC resource at Mavis Lake.

Mavis Lake is located 19km east of Dryden, Ontario, and is also close to the Trans-Canada highway and railway major transportation arteries linking larger cities such as Thunder Bay, Ontario, to the southeast and Winnipeg, Manitoba, to the west.

Pegmatites at Mavis Lake are found within the correct zonation for lithium enrichment from the Ghost Lake Batholith, a fertile granite intrusion.
