    Thanks Oscar and morning crew.

    Half-time round-up:

The share market overcame a mid-morning wobble to reach the halfway mark ahead on modest gains across all sectors.

The ASX 200 rose 14 points or 0.2% to 5960 by the halfway mark led by advances in materials +0.5%, telecoms +0.5% and consumer discretionary +0.5%.

Overnight, Wall Street inched higher after a gauge of future economic growth showed the US economy gathering steam at twice the rate expected by economists. The S&P 500 put on 0.13%. This morning S&P 500 futures were down a point or 0.04%.

The mood was positive in Asia, where China's Shanghai Composite rallied 0.11%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng 0.71% and Japan's Nikkei 0.97%.

Crude oil futures edged up two cents or 0.04% this morning to US$56.44 a barrel. Gold futures bounced $3.50 or 0.27% to US$1,278.80 an ounce. The dollar was buying 75.35 US cents.

Trading: slowest session in a few weeks. The heat has been ebbing out of the market for a few days now. Scarcely surprising considering how hard it has run. I took a profit on TV2 from yesterday and scraped a pip from VIC.
