Thanks @shovel40, @Fiji1, @Patterns and morning crew.
Half-time wrap:
The share market eased for a second day as an earnings miss from ANZ and softening US equity futures offset strong leads from Wall Street.
The ASX 200 declined eight points or 0.11% by mid-session. A risk-averse session saw slender gains in mostly defensive stocks outweighed by declines in banks, gold miners and energy producers.
ANZ shed 3.34% after reporting a record profit that fell short of analysts' expectations. Macquarie Group was another significant drag, losing 2.32% as its shares traded without the right to the next dividend.
US futures drifted lower in Sunday night trade following a strong end to last week. The S&P 500 climbed 1.56% on Friday to its highest close since September. This morning futures for the index were down 0.3%.
Personal trading: Got something off the lows in ALV and INR. Also took ERW. On the downside, I looked at KTA at 3.1c and thought: "Nah. It's done." Idiot.
