Half-time wrap:
The share market built on its longest win streak since June after Wall Street welcomed further signs that US rates are at or near a top.
Gains in banks, gold miners and tech and property stocks helped lift the ASX 200 by 20 points or 0.28%. Declines in Tabcorp, CSL and ResMed kept the rally in check.
The index was on track for a sixth straight advance as the mood on global markets continued to improve. The current run of improvements is the longest since a seven-session win streak in June.
Overnight, the S&P 500 climbed 0.43% to a fourth straight gain after the minutes from last month's Federal Reserve meeting showed officials intend to "proceed carefully" on interest rates because the risk of tightening policy too much or too little is now finely balanced.
