It needs to use a bot to weld around the pipe,
turning the pipe or turning the welding head around the pipe.
This will not be possible on site,
where lengths of pipes have been welded in a stationary position.

There will be no way of using a bot with pipes underground,
or laying in dirt...

KTG, it's a pipe welder...

OT. Why could you not have a jig around the pipe to support the welding unit to weld the pipe onsite? It is possible.
