1. Sales have always been considered an important aspect of Afterpay Day. Thinking Boxing Day, Black Friday etc. This is hardly a "far cry from their the value proposition of two years ago" as it has literally always been the point of the sale.
2. My understanding is Afterpay Day is optional to the merchant and they also decide what sales they are offering so most of the "An issue of incentives" piece doesn't really make too much sense.
