I think people underestimate how quickly this will grow.
In Australia, it took them about 30 months to get to 10% of the population having an Afterpay account.
If that happens in the US, you are looking at approx. 30 million US customers by December 2020.
They are growing faster in the US than in Australia, and that makes sense: they know what they are doing and following a proven formula; they are ahead of the financing needs; there is no incumbent to go up against etc...
