Apple Pay Later is a payment method at checkout. It also requires you to have a credit card, which is completely different to Afterpay. Apple is not perfect. Apple+ and AppleTV are basically flops. Apple Pay has barely any market share in the consumer industry. Afterpay is already partnered with Google Pay.
