It's run by S&P indicies and uses S&P methodology. Belows an extract from S&P website.

"Except for the S&P/ASX All Technology Index, the market capitalization criterion for stock inclusion is
based upon the daily average market capitalization of a security over the last six months. The ASX stock
price history (last six months), latest available shares on issue, and the Investable Weight Factor (IWF)
are the relevant variables for the calculation. The IWF is a variable that is primarily used to determine the
available float of a security for ASX-listed securities. "

Based of that APT's market cap would have been up and down over the 6 month period. It wouldn't be anyway near an avg $8bn (of the 50th) over the 6 month period. Give it another 3 months and if it holds it should be up for inclusion in the S&P 50. Should be tasty to be included in some index fund selection.
