I didn't mention venture capitalists at all, Your reference to Mike Cannon is a bit irrelevant, don't think he mentions Afterpay there. What I said is also true to a company going public on the Nasdaq or NYSE, not just ASX
You're now critical of a company for going public on the ASX basically.
You must nor realise, Afterpay isn't a foreign company. It's Australian company that started life operating its business only in Australia. It then listed on the Australian stock exchange...(its local public market)
I don't know the exact details in afterpays history to this point but if it did get knocked back by US venture it doesn't really matter anymore, we're a little bit past that.
I bet they knew those options were a long time coming before they sold down on any holdings...
