Ha, ha. I spoke only Friday to an IR guy at another company who was considering action against a negative thread from seekingalpha.com that was being widely discussed on HC. These companies are reliant on the capital markets for their funding and the exec's for their sweet ridiculous share linked bonuses. They are not blind to what goes on with these threads.
There would have to be overt untruths being told for them to take action (far more common is big funds paying rampers and down-rampers depending on their positions). With companies like Afterpay and Tesla the truth is right there for all too see. Most investors simply ignore it and don't care for valuations. If the share price is going higher it must continue right?
