I’ve never bought a new car.

I’m trying to get rid of one at the moment as the dealer wouldn’t give me tuppence for it

Family car ( for wife & kids)
DIDO car for my highway use
4x4 for beach work

I flip at least one a year, of my cars and the wife’s car, every 3.

Just like COP I juggle, look for best value, try different options to best suit my financial position, on the day.

Sometimes, like COP, I take a punt on what maybe consider a different approach.

Like COP and any other company, sometimes I have a win and sometimes I stuff up.

Did COP stuff up on the SNE sale?
It’s not my place to say.
Is not buying new in the car stakes a faulty decision by me?
Definitely not.

Is only buying new cars the smartest decision?
I reckon it’s a fools paradise for people with more dollars than cents

I will put an exemption on the last bit, if you don’t have to get a loan to buy the new car, it’s fair enough ( I’ve never had a car loan, dead money that).

PS a car to me is like a hammer or a piece of rope, just another tool or piece of equipment that I need to make my life easier.
