The idea of having an age pension entitlement according to age is an interesting one. Many workers in high pressure jobs (especially males) who work until retirement can only expect to live for a short time and probably will die before pension age anyhow. eg ( stats from a few years back now admittedly) a male public school principal working until retirement at 60 could expect to live six years in retirement. Similar life expectancies across a lot of vocations were similar. However these are the people who have super anyhow and don't need the pension.
The people who gain the most benefit are those of course with longevity: women and those in lower paid, less demanding jobs and those who have bludged their way through life on welfare anyhow.

In my little rant JX I thought about adding teachers to the group who really shouldn't be working to 70, but as you say if they have been in it for life they should be able to retire early. It is not a poorly paid job.
