Most people do not understand aged care. The Government pays approx $75,000.00 per resident in aged care homes for 24 hour care 7 days a week.
A bond was introduced aprox $550,000.00 to $2,000,000.00(which is fully refunded) to fund the homes but this has not worked.

My Mother was placed in a aged care home and the experience was wonderful , the real problem is the cost because most people expect the Government to pay for Everything.
My Wife was a RN in Aged Care for over 40 years and always worked over 50 hours per week (only paid 38-40 hours) because she loved her job.
IF you want full time nursing care at home you would pay approx $7,000.00 per week , which people can not afford.
People should understand the cost of Aged Care before Complaining.
