cheers lisping duck (I wonder what that sounds like?)

an excellent thread to have in an election.... I hope all post on the vital issue of wages management.

    .....................................................

Howard's WorkChoices were limited by the important clause "No worker will be worse off".

Rudd/Gillard established the FairWork Commission to replace the Howard system of enterprise bargaining which, regardless of Howard's clause, left ordinary workers unable to negotiate with employers and left with no options other than to accept - the Fairwork comm maintained that Howard clause.

Abbott abolished many things established by the Rudd/Gillard terms and removed the Howard clause and enable businesses to outsource labour hire. This led to the deepening impoverishment rate of workers as Uber and other gig economy workers took up delivery opportunities to earn pay similar to that found in developing nations.

A whole new paradigm of worker payment, no longer employees but bit-rate one delivery at a time "contract' workers.

no bloomin' wonder wages have gone backward for the greater proportion of workers while middle management and executive pay scales have been soaring......

    • we used to be a fair nation.
    • we used to respect workers rights to a fair days pay, even a 'living wage',
    • we used to have a booming economy.

    What happened?
