"If an absolute majority of MEPs (353) objects to the Commission’s proposal, the Commission will have to withdraw or amend it."


That equates 353 no votes, from total 705 member votes (use to be 751 pre-brexit).

Cautiously optimistic the logic and arithmetic will prevail and not activists that glue themselves on to the road - the irony is the NGO case is they are calling Nuclear / Natural Gas as greenwashing, but that would be beneficial to France/Britain/South Korea with proven decarbonisation statistics.
Natural Gas then are obviously claiming it would benefit Russia.

Relying on Solar you basically are buying from China / US (to lesser extent) at the moment (EU is attempting to build EU based manufacturing capacity by 2029 - mandatory installs on commercial buildings and residential), (Polysilicon Smelters in EU are not in operation except for Iceland (geothermal) due to the energy crisis). China mainly runs coal power plants for their polysilicon smelters - they are run at a loss; and effectively entreprise/state owned.

The NGO lack the depth of knowledge to understand that Solar Panels do not grow on trees, but are manufactured under dubious environmental conditions, and often need its full operational life span to become carbon neutral; this is the same with EV cars in that argument. - EV conversion of existing ICE engine cars makes a lot more sense but you see that doesn't make a lot of sense to vehicle manufacturers/lobbyists.
