I listened to a Professor talking on the radio perhaps 15 years ago.
The general conversation was about life expectancy and alcohol consumption.
In short, the Professor was pushing for higher taxation on alcohol, because if people drank less they tend to live a few extra years (as a statistic that is).
Anyway, all these oldies phoned in and politely told him to F-Off because they weren’t too concerned about getting those extra years for the ABS statistics.
They just wanted to be able to afford a drink or two at the end of the day.
The poor Professor didn’t seem to understand that their desire was affordable quality of life, not longevity.
