In sport we always want to compare ourselves with the World's best
yet when it comes to the aged pension we want to decend to 3rd world standards.

Here's what I mean by the best aged pension in the world:

Please note that the OECD @ $52,900 AUD average P/A is more than twice that of Aus
And of course Norway takes the bickie @ $90,000 P/A (this is what is affordable by good resources management)

The reason that we treat our aged like lepers is that we don't tax our resources fairly thereby forcing
our aged to live on the brink of poverty1
