    Interesting to note the Queensland sales commission change that occurred back in 2015.

    Up until 2015, there was a legislated maximum commission rate of 5% on the first $18,000 of a sale, and 2.5% on the remaining sale price.


    Yes seems the average 2003-2024 sales commission in QLD for selling a home is between 1.8 to 2.5% + 10% gst on commission.
    (seems to be higher for rural towns with lower house prices)

    $20,000 sales commission for the sale of a $1 Million dollar home seems steep considering the little effort involved, as a good presented home tends to sell itself.


    Personally I never use a real-estate to sell / buy or rent a home. IMO nobody does a better job than ones self.
