Those are very detailed notes about your meeting from Mr Power back in August. It was an interesting read - I'm glad you decided to create an account in April to post about your conversation in August. Have you spoken with Mr. Power since that conversation?
I was curious about the history so I looked through the press releases and found that Kieran was appointed on April 7th 2017. The stock on that day closed at $1.84. Shortly thereafter, in mid June, the stock soared to $2.48. It's unlikely that Kieran materially affected the stock price in the first 3 months, considering a high-quality game can take a year to release.
Since then, the stock has tumbled and lost significant value, Ainsworth has lost significant shipshare domestically and is barely staying afloat on International markets. Their fleet performance is so bad that they are having difficulty achieving penetration on their new games. They are blaming delays in regulatory approval - the same song they've been singing for years now - and to my knowledge, no other company cites that as a significant contributor to the lack of performance.
It's interesting that you write about Kangacash. At the time of the writing, the game had already been a failure - but you said the numbers looked "promising." Why is that? A couple of weeks after your post, in the post-AHG Macquarie noted the abysmal performance of Ainsworth games, including the Kanga games, noting they are "still looking for a hit" among the dwindling performance. JP Morgan Chase also noted that Kanga had flopped. What was your source that the numbers on Kanga are promising?
By the way, a couple of people in the industry have told me that Mr. Power has caused some serious problems at Ainsworth, and they are having a lot of trouble attracting talent because others in the industry know not to work with him. I guess he has never worked in game design before and apparently it shows in the product quality. Certainly their latest press release that notes delays in regulatory approval could be the lack of experience of the CTO not knowing how to develop a game.
