AGL Energy's newest bull concedes the Australian power company hasn't been aneasy investment case over the past few years. "However, with pricing higher, hedgingwinding down, customers preferring scale, and with a new long-term strategy todecarbonize, AGL is making it easier to refocus on the underlying business and its strongmarket position over the next few decades," Jefferies analyst Anthony Moulder says in anote. Starting coverage of the stock at buy, Jefferies considers AGL to be a simplifiedbusiness with an improving earnings base, providing attractive upside to fair value.Jefferies's maiden price target is A$9.24, compared to AGL's close of A$7.89 on Tuesday.
