I bought some calls back when the price was around $9.70, i knew it was very risky, but gave it a go. They are worthless at moment, and expire in march 2022, so will likely take a full loss on them.
As the original poster said: AGL is a victim of mismanagement when the renewable energy target and climate nonsense was at its peak. Now that 'climate crisis' as a political ideology has basically won, AGL will continue to suffer. I initially thought it was smart of them to break up, but now im less sure, its entirely possible we are just seeing a similar, albeit less severe, permanent destruction of shareholder value like what occurred with AMP.
They wouldve been better replacing their coal plants with gas reciprocating engines in the most blackout prone areas, and left the wind turbines and solar panels to others.
