their investment in PowAR Co. does 'technically' mean that they are the largest ASX listed investor... according to the AGL website... Powering Australia Renewables fund is 2-3 billion in size... that would make AGL's 20% stake valued between 400m & 600m...
AFAIK - the next biggest renewable energy company on the ASX now are NEW @ 293m MC or GNX @ 246m MC...
I agree wholly that its more marketing than merit... having the renewable assets within the fund rather than on balance sheet certainly has resulted in PPAs which have cost AGL shareholders dearly
