    For the record (IMO) - it is government subsidies and intervention which make such a mess of people understanding why we have the energy mix we have today... and why it is so hard for a change to occur.

    I do not believe any business should get a subsidy. Governments should facilitate development by providing the relevant streamlined approvals processes and clearly define what is needed and where. If they want "greenzones" in a particular place with a suitable resource - let THEM fund the transmission lines to make the development happen (not the developers lines... but the connection of the zones power to the main grid).

    This article highlights the key difference between the two storage options: cost over effective life + length of storage output. I am on the record stating that I feel they both have a place in energy grid 2.0... first movers in both areas of storage will be best rewarded IMHO
