My personal opinion is that its forced selling by being kicked out of the ASX50 and the underwritten DRP. Shorting is used as a mechanism to balance the sell order flow. Lets see how the % shorts stack up by the end of September, I wouldn't be surprised to see a step down by then.
We shall see in a couple of weeks time if I am correct, but for me I am as happy as Larry. Opportunities like these don't come along very often in a strong overall market.
