I don't have enough time to post more detail but below is the scanned images from the article: A review of tertiary brown coal deposits in Australia - their depositional factors and eustatic correlations by Holdgate et al.
This is a bit of technical but quite easy to undertand from the figures. We can see the riding seam, the sulphur contents, the thickness.. The article is publised in 1984 and well recognised. I could see our current exploration area is the best of all in regarding to depth and seam thickness. It's quite a surprised to me to see the coal seam extend quite far (BM to Altona).
