Who is watching the upcoming company split at AGL? Are there any smart and more experienced investors out there who can tell us whether it will likely create significant value? My tentative thesis is that it will, and also that the current low price of the stock is likely to protect investors who are hoping for that boost from any downside. Is there someone smarter than me who can weigh in?
It is likely to take place by June. I’m currently gathering cash to buy this stock and would love some wise words before I do so.
I know buying before a split or spinoff is an old strategy, but it seems to still make sense. I found the attached in Joel Greenblatt’s classic investing book, You Can Be a Stockmarket Genius.
