The political battle over Labor’s emissions reduction plans for cars and utes is moving into top gear.Chris Bowen’s announcement on Thursday of a $76 million cheap funding and loans package to boost the purchase of electric vehicles (EV) is just a minor skirmish.The most intense fight will start this month when the government reveals how much it is prepared to compromise, if at all, on its preferred fuel efficiency standards for vehicles and the timetable for change.
