That note you added to your post states renewables are the lowest cost new build.
It doesn't say renewables are cheaper than existing coal plants. It means renewables are cheaper than building new coal plants.
existing coal plants with good reliability will make good money because electricity prices will rise. New builds are more expensive. period.
