I missed this post... you pulled from the hip big time in regards to ev consumption and charge amounts.
small range evs have ~30kw battery(off a full charge even at highway speeds you will get 150km range - city use will be better again due to regenerative braking), bigger ones like the Kia ev6 are 78kw, it has a 520km range... a 40km daily drive will use 10kw IN AN INEFFICIENT MODEL. the ev6 will use less than 6kw - and it is a sports suv ev!!! if you own an ev and you are using 60kw to travel 40km... time to upgrade mate
my household daily usage is 20kw, which is where I came to the 60kw btw... 20kw x your utopic 3 times as much as the typical household usage claim
as to wind turbines installations - I gave you 450mw of examples which were commissioned last year AND plenty of what will be commissioned this year - there is actually a map on the renew economy website - which you have been looking at a bit... which shows you wind farms - operational and proposed.... if you click on the farm, it tells you when it was commissioned.
Like all renewables, wind can be curtailed or even withdraw from the market when prices go negative... as you know, working in the industry and all... not so easy to turn off a coal plant when supply exceeds demand is it?
as to wind capacity - looking at opennem (which has a widget on the website you mentioned) you can adjust your time reporting duration to clearly see that wind capacity has indeed increased
January 2023 wind output was 2.048gw or 11.4% of supply, January 24 was 2.264gw or 12.1% of supply... that is 10% increase right there YoY
October 22 2.141gw October 23 2.592gw 15% of supply and +20% growth.
not arguing that the offshore wind farm at Gippsland has hit a hurdle... it hasn't stopped the project, alternative solutions to the initial port will be found... it will happen as the current alternatives for overnight supply that are not fossil fuel based are not yet developed, or not able to be constructed within the timeframes required and let's not forget more expensive than wind also
