It could be that the outage will not cost AGL anything in the long run, and all costs will be eventually paid by the owners of the power lines. It has been mentioned in media that the pylons were fabricated from Chinese made steel. Some of their steel does not comply with Australian Standards. Then there is the issue of design to withstand once every 50 years events. Everyone knows climate is changing and there are warnings that weather events are becoming more extreme. A reasonable person would review design factors and confirm that structures will withstand today's weather events. We shall have to wait for the Government inquiry to report their findings, which could be many months away.

Does anyone know if Eraring is certain to close in 2025? Are they still writing contracts for 2025?
