2. I suspect he didn't understand that the question was aimed at cost savings through less energy use. Can't comment on your second question
3. It is most likely that any corporate suitor will want to see a functioning MB chip, so they are focusing on that. However he didn't rule out (possibly because he can't) that it may be possible a corporate transaction could occur before that if that particular company wasn't relying on a functioning chip
