It does look like an industry standard, but I think it's absurd. Both Equinix and Digital Realty have the same problem - their levels of maintenance capex suggest that the racks, air con, fitout, computer equipment, machine etc have a useful life of 100+ years. Wish my laptop would last until 2124!
