*cough "well run quarrying operations in the NT" cough*

"Located about 200 kilometres north-east of Alice Springs, the operation is one of only five major garnet mines in the world."

    Wow. Boundless Possible.

But despite the area containing the world's largest alluvial garnet deposit, the mine has not produced enough garnet to operate at a profit.

    Fancy that.

This well run, highly regulated and carefully assessed company has previous form.

Read the Related Articles from ABC.

They made themselves popular with the local business community:

    This part obviously went well:

Because "well run" and "highly regulated"

Like all good quarrying proposals in the NT, this one was going to pave the roads in Garnets. Boundless profits.

And yet... some people from a bourse far far away, wonder why small NT quarry operators are held in such low regard by the common people who actually live here.

The reason these 3c operations go belly up is because they can.
    • Utilising the NT's Rafferty's Rules is a proven business model.
    • Phoenix operations are profitable.
