I'd respectfully disagree with the last point. SP is a byproduct of a company's performance. It tells you what the market's collective view of the company is. The market doesn't always get it right right away, and when it doesn't, it provides good opportunities to invest before it realigns.
But caution, it doesn't always happen for any number of reasons. Use your best judgement.
