Sadly it just means you need to have the nerve to ignore it; many don't and lose money and eventually leave the market. Also sadly it means you can't take a short or medium term view on the prospects and progress of a company and have safety in your investment unless you buy what everyone else is buying and accept the average returns that they get. Unless of course you want to try to participate in the short term gaims and try to make money off the swings. Most don't, and those that claim to are usually lying, only telling you about the winners, or have only succeeded in the very short term (like all gamblers really). The real winner is the ASX and its shareholders. The real loser is businesses in Australia that want raise capital to build anything beyond a small business (and those that want to invest in them and their success but can't take a 3-5 year view on every investment).
