My guess(es):
Visa Deal
1. Visa deal to enable APT to operate as issuer bank using current payment network but using their current credit business model.
2. The deal unlocks the whole POS industry where VISA is accepted.
3. Unlocks the potential to instantly roll out the In-Store for current US merchants.
4. Smoothens the process of new merchant onboarding avoiding the need of installing/upgrading existing merchant side infrastructure/software to accept APT.
5. Enhances user experience with ability to use APT with digital wallets and Apple/Google pay.
6. Access to existing payment platform across the world by VISA, easy move into other geo-regions without worrying(at least less to worry) about infrastructure and political hurdles.
Others:
1. Above expectation in UK.
2. Expected velocity os new users onboarding in US.
IMO, too early at this stage for:
1. Target upgrade
2. New country
All in my opinion and what I see as potential in Visa deal the way I understand payment industry and new trends innovated by these Fintechs and NeoBanks challenging the big conventionals.
Good luck to believers....... in power of technology and innovation
