Capman, thanks for your version of teh explanation. You say "the UCG process actually creates its own gas called syngas and the csm remains in the coal seam as that coal seam is burnt and never sees the light of day."
I think that is the exact point, the CSM (to teh degree that it exists) is "swallowed" up into Syngas.
Oh and we get 80 per cent recovery. I'm with you, Qld Government go figure!
