This thread is a perfect example of the modus operandi of some of our posters.
Really good summation Coit only to have the theme of the thread disrupted by a random 'spanner' being thrown in in an attempt to derail the thread and have it degenerate into banal bickering.
Thanks Mr H. Succinctly put. " Petrosen can reasonably be expected to act in their own best interests."
CN has stated that Petrosen has PE rights. I have expressed an opinion previously that she would have not said that lightly.
I agree Coit, if this ends as some of us would wish, there are likely to be questions asked in both the CNE and WPL camps. Goes back months to the thought that a deal was cut with CNE not to PE.
One of our partners has a dispute with an outgoing partner, and I’m not sure where that’s got to, but from our perspective and from the government’s perspective Woodside are adding value, and they’re moving forward and there are no delays as a result of that."
A while back much mischief was made of this comment. Much was inferred, including Govt approval of the deal.
Most of it was completely fabricated.
My take on this is:
One of our partners has a dispute with an outgoing partner
CNE: Bugger but I suppose that I have to at least acknowledge that I'm aware of the dispute.
GOVT: No comment.
I’m not sure where that’s got to,
CNE: It is convenient for me to say this. It fluffs over the issue, this could be embarrassing down track with egg all over the place.
GOVT: No comment.
from the government’s perspective Woodside are adding value, and they’re moving forward and there are no delays as a result of that."
CNE: Well got to say something nice, and at least they aren't causing any delays.
GOVT: Well CNE shouldn't be speaking for us but since you mention it, yes we are happy. WPL for the moment are adding value to us. They are paying all the bills and keeping the project moving forward with no delays. Isn't that great, sort of like a loan, if you like.
So yes I empathise, for the moment we think WPL are great, from our perspective, urrr, for the moment!
We while away the time while we wait.
We talked about the fact that whatever deal was possibly around would be contingent on the results of the current drilling.
So as Coit says is likely to be sometime yet.
And agree the AGM is likely to come and go.
And there will be lots more rants and demanding of answers, etc, etc.

PS: Good to see the shorts dropping.
Yip we Hoi Poli will be the last to hear.
