Reminds me of good parents - leading up to Xmas they encourage their kids to be good and when the day arrives the children receive their bounty. That is called 'positive reinforcement'.
Then there is the OBJ Board of Directors approach - feed healthy doses of carrots, ambiguities and promises, fail to deliver or explain, and follow up with a series of kicks in the bollocks until all the kids believe it is their fault and despite whatever they try, they are really just undeserving wankers. Xmas arrives with no expectations and obviously no presents, and the kids count their blessings that at least for a few days the banks are closed and no trading occurs.
That is called 'australian business'.
