Just got around to reading this. There is a suggestion that the drug reduces frequency of bleeds post ischaemic stroke and they're then inferencing that it has "vasculoprotection" properties, however the data doesn't reach significance.
There is no evidence in the trial that it improves clinical outcomes either.. in fact the treatment group had a less frequent occurrence of favourable 90 day outcomes although numbers were small...
