Legume, the loan to your sisters friends is not impaired if the value of the property exceeds the value of the loan. The property will more than likely sold and the bank will retrieve all their money plus penalty interest on default interest rates plus plenty of fees thrown in.
That is a very profitable transaction for the bank.
