I dont think that switching gears would be a good look and likely see people dumping their holdings, Iron Ore is in a downard cycle and it will bounce, AGO just needs to ride it out even if they are breaking even. The chinese will likely be sharpening up their swords with the likes of AGO as they love seeing aussie producers on their knees.
AGO is in serious trouble for a cheap take over currently, if you add up their cash position, inground resources, production and port capacity its worth a great deal more than their current market cap, not sure of the the value if added all up but the company is worth more than whats being priced in....The fall from $1.90 has been fairly swift and at the very least a technical bounce cant be very far away.
Watch out for BHP with their pilbara competition in distress.....
