no transport operator pays anywhere near retail diesel price. even a local operator with 20 - 30 trucks would virtually be paying terminal gate price. input price is not as critical as some would believe here - rise and fall clauses are pretty transparent when you have a direct contract ( i'm not talking about a subbie which doesn't have a direct relationship with the end user ) . you can bet that every transport operators client knows the diesel price has dropped and will have their hand out for a reduction in rates.
