For those curious why Pablo chose this corner of the Rincon salar, it’s worth studying the topography. There is a homogeneous brine that recharges nicely into the south eastern corner of the salar. Brine (water) moves.
The scarring on the mountain ranges on the north west give some clues away. When there was actually some rain in the area, it flooded the north/north west region of the salar, then seeping underground. Guess where this recharge ends up........
