Perhaps misreporting somewhere along the line?

10m unreported is a lot and should have been flagged by the asx/asic, however I don't know the legalities behind short reporting.

From the ASIC website, "While we will monitor compliance with short position reporting and provide additional guidance where necessary, we are unable to verify the accuracy of all individual reports submitted to ASIC, nor to verify that all short sellers in our market (both in Australia and overseas) are lodging reports."

Do you have a script to scrape the data from the ASX daily reported shorts or do you do this manually? Any chance you could have gotten the daily reported figure accidentally incorrect?
