mmmm interesting thanks @seagull. looks like I'm now on a similar information loop. I did notice something interesting:
1. entities do not need to report short positions at all if they hold less than $100,000 worth
2. ASIC holds the transaction arrangement between the buyer and seller of shorts but they only have an obligation to report numbers not names
3. the data inconsistencies that you have been seeing may also have something to do with the Global time delays, as some of the data won't be reported before 7pm on the day??
