Let me tell you a bedtime story son. When I was a boy not much older than yourself I remember race day at Grandma and Pappas house. The radio would be blaring as they studied the race guide arguing amongst each other while they sorted their bets. It was quite the show and when they backed a winner my goodness it was a spectacle of joy.

Bur It wasn't till many years later that my father broke the news to me that Grandpa and Pappa never bet with real money, no sir, it was just pretend, there was no money involved at all. It was just a bit of fun to fill in their brokeass days.
