For a trader it doesn't matter how many you can buy. What matters is percentage profit.
300% on the Shares is the same as 300% on the options, regardless of how many of each you have.
But I agree it matters for a shareholder who are willing to take a time-limited risk. If your intention is to convert to shares before they expire, then I agree, buying 3x more now is much better. And moving those options into the hands of someone who will convert them is better than leaving them in the hands of someone who wont.
